This National Agriculture Day, we’re firing up barbeques across Australia to say a simple, heartfelt thanks to the people who keep our industry going: our growers, teams and local communities. On Friday 21 November, Muirs branches and selected farms will host relaxed BBQ events that bring mates together for good food and conversations.
Mates, Meals & Mo-ments is presented in partnership with Corteva Agriscience. It’s a straightforward idea: share a meal, show practical gratitude and create space to connect. There’s no hard sell, just a snag, a laugh and time to check in with the people around us.
Alongside celebrating Aussie agriculture, each BBQ shines a light on Movember, the month-long campaign boosting men’s mental and physical health. Our farming communities juggle unique pressures, from seasonal swings to isolation on the road or on-farm, so we’re using these moments to normalise looking out for one another. Whether it’s a neighbourly chat over the fence, a friendly cuppa, a call from the cab or sharing a snag at the end of a hard week, these small moments can make a big difference.
Throughout November, our teams are getting behind Movember by joining our fundraising team, growing a mo, hosting a BBQ or taking on a movement challenge.
